After graduating college I worked at a mixed animal practice in Pullman, Washington as a veterinary technician and discovered a love and respect for the veterinary profession. But life took its twists and turns and I moved on to the corporate marketing world.

After 15 years as a marketing executive and freelance writer, I'm now bringing my wide-ranging experience to benefit veterinary hospitals.

My extensive time spent in the various iterations of the medical healthcare industry; my experience both as veterinary clinic staff, and a consumer of veterinary medicine; and my career as a marketer and a writer make me uniquely suited to make a difference in your marketing.

An Experienced Marketer

Prior to hanging my shingle as a freelance copywriter and marketing consultant, I worked for 12 years doing marketing both for the equine industry at the Appaloosa Horse Club and as a marketing director at New Hope Natural Media, the foremost natural and alternative health media company in the world.

I became fluent in marketing to a variety of different audiences. I've created dozens of successful marketing campaigns that consistently increased response rates and ROI. I've also learned how to understand the mind of a target audience and market to them in a way that solved their problems, built relationships and positioned my company as a solution-oriented partner.

An Accomplished Writer

I love the challenge of finding the right words to persuade an audience of the relevance of a great product, or the opportunity to bring an undervalued service to greater awareness. I began my freelance copywriting career in 2001 with a dream to combine my extensive marketing experience with my strong writing talents and help my clients improve brand image, attract new customers, and increase loyalty among current ones.

I live in the southern Colorado Rocky Mountains on a small ranch with a variety of animals wild and domestic. I enjoy spending my off time trail riding through the mountains or hiking with my dogs. I've also been known to spend a lazy summer afternoon reading on the hammock with the cat.
